AFTER WORD
I feel blessed to be in the great company of Oliver and Travis for the Month of November. Both of them are a spark off the flame of what we call 12Listen.com, which is of course a spark off the flame of something even bigger and on it goes.
The other day I had a revelation (they do happen occasionally).As I speak to each of you on the phone, I feel, without exception, a familiar energy, a feeling that I had felt before that I couldn't put my finger on. For a while, I thought it was just my excitement at doing readings but the other day, I realized it was the very feeling I've felt years ago, when I would be afraid and would close my eyes and ask for help.
To remember the feeling so vividly and be able to connect it to its origin was profound for me. It is with that thought that I want to say "Thank you", your connection with me now means more than it ever did.
Be at peace, Peace be at you.

Hello Everyone,
It seems that everywhere I look there is some reference or some theory about the scary forms of annihilations coming our way. Granted, I've been around less than a quarter-century so if these kinds of disaster stories seem like old news to me (I wonder if "Old-News" counts as an oxymoron) then their frequency is rather obvious.
I suppose there have been end-of-world prophecies since the beginning of time, just look at some of the Nostradamus quatrains or wait - the best seller of all time is rich in "This is it" stories. At least after Noah's Arc (or what i lovingly call "The Big Shower" when telling it to my little sisters) we're told there will be no more genocides by water so I guess we don't have to worry about the melting glaciers!

Perhaps I'm being too flip about the whole end-of-days thing. Maybe my early exposure to comic book heroes crushed my trust in the oral tradition (I'll explain shortly). Let's face it, most of our reality is based on our beliefs. Beliefs are based on: 1.What we're taught (93%) 2. What we deduce from what we're taught (6%) and 3. an original thought outside of number 1 and 2 (1%).
In last month's Voice of Hope I exemplified our blind acceptance of beliefs through the story about a mother who handed down a generations-old secret recipe for cooking the perfect ham that involved removing its tail only to find that her ancestors were cutting off the tail because the pans of old were too small to take the entire ham.
But the most telling example of our blind acceptance, the one most hit me where it hurts comes from my beloved comic books - in particular the Green Lantern. Roll your eyes if you will, but don't judge a lesson by it's cover, this stuff is deep.
Some of the most powerful being in existence pool their powers together into a concentrated Green Light or lantern so that their powers can be passed on to a select few who will use the power to guard the Universe from evil.
Their power looks like a green light and this light awakens within the ring as consciousness. The consciousness now finds an "owner" or someone to wear the ring and use it's power to defend their part of the galaxy.
Mostly, the owners aren't human (as we aren't favored as the brightest stars in the Universe) but our ring decided that our galaxy will be protected by a human, Hal Jordan. For years and years the green lantern super heroes learn to harness the power of their rings and as they develop their own set of skills, they become better at their task. They are required to go to special Green Lantern schools to improve their gifts so that over time they can protect the galaxy from impending doom (in the form of bad guys with their own rings of different colors bent on destroying everything).
Here's the important part. In School, the Green Lanterns are told that their greatest weakness is the color yellow. They cannot bend yellow and it will therefore always  defeat them. So if they see an enemy with a yellow ring they must retreat and get help.
So generations of Green Lanterns have taught their creed and handed down the wisdom of their weaknesses and strengths to their lineage while learning alternatives to defeating this dastardly color. But guess what?
We find out, like the story of our ham, that it isn't true. Yellow can be bent and although there is still controversy about the fact that yellow DOES have a particularly strong impact on Green, it was not the life and death destructo ray that it was being taught. Generations of heroes, mislead for a belief.

Now I'm certainly in love with faith and I believe in the leaps we need to take in its name, but there comes a time when great insight can be born if the mind is open enough to allow it. And I think that's the key, many of our beliefs are immovable because we're too afraid to test them
This month, find what gives you faith, whether it's your current beliefs or ones from childhood, be sure for allow them to pass the "What if this weren't true?" test. If you can imagine a life without what you're believing to be true, then you have take the first step to clearing the way to real knowledge!

AMETHYST
Their are few gemstones that are closer to my heart, and I am sure most of yours, then that of the Amethyst. A color and a vibration higher then most others, the beauty of this stone on both a spiritual and physical level is something to be highly admired.
Amethyst has long been called the "sobriety stone." in ancient Rome, crushed amethyst was added to wine cups to prevent drunkenness. It is said to assist with healing alcoholism, compulsive behaviors and addictions of all kinds. Amethyst brings energies of stability, peace, calm, balance, courage and inner strength. It has been used to protect against psychic attacks.
On the spiritual level, Amethyst can help to communicate with angels, telepathy and other psychic abilities. It is an excellent stone for meditation or dream work, past life work and can help you see your path. It has also been used to help ease the pain of grief and promote happiness. Amethyst is reputed to be beneficial when dealing with legal problems and money issues which can lead to prosperity and abundance. Amethyst is also used as protection for travelers. Physically Amethyst is said by spiritual healers and mystical lore to heal the withdrawal symptoms of any sort of addiction, help with headaches, insomnia, arthritis, pain relief, circulatory system issues, endocrine system problems, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, immune system deficiencies and general healing. Amethyst is associated with brow and crown chakras.

Travis
So many of us right now are seeking insight into the directions of lives, especially as the paradigms are shifting and we are being urged by Spirit to let the old familiar parts of our lives be shaken loose to make way for the new energies as a result of the contrast and ultimately and new conclusions that contrast has lead us to.
One of many ways for us to receive reciprocation from our guides, angels, and deceased loved ones, is to pay attention to the signs that are around us. One can make a sign out of anything, especially when you're looking for one, however with a true authentic sign, no matter how subtle or blatantly obvious it may be, there is a sense of knowingness inside of us that validates its authenticity. I have always been keen to notice signs from the Universe, and I use these signs as guidance. I don't go looking for them, and they came when need, and in the appropriate form. Sometimes however, like many of us, I can be so absorbed in my own day to day life, that the universe has to practically scream at me to get my attention.
One such example being several summers ago. I had been working on manifesting a fulfilling relationship, and because it was a beautiful day outside I decided to go for a walk in the country. When we deliberately focus on our intentions while in nature, or while moving the physical body, our desires tend to manifest at a much more rapid rate. While walking I was contemplating a particular person I had feelings for and when I looked in the sky, I saw in the clouds, two figures coming together, arms stretched out, reaching toward one another and eventually joining in romantic embrace.
The figures were very distinct looking and I knew intuitively what it represented. I gave thanks for my sign and continued to walk on. I have notice that since studying shamanic teachings on my spiritual path, that power animals and animal spirit guides present themselves to me in big ways- with unmistakable signs. Today would be no different.
I continued trekking along, gratitude washing over me as I watched the yellow wild flowers sway in the wind against the bright blue sky. And just then- in the sky, was another cloud, this time perfectly shaped like a hummingbird. I was amazed at the perfection of the design, and after several moments the hummingbird shaped cloud dissipated from its feathered form and moved along in the breeze. Shocked at the fact that I had been given 2 such obvious signs in the same day I hardly noticed that my shoelaces had become untied.
I bent down to tie them and there, right next to my foot, was a hummingbird laying on the ground. Sadly, it must have been hit by a car, but the body had no physical injuries that I could see. It was just there. Its beautiful ruby throat glistened in the summer sunlight. It seemed hummingbird, a messenger of joy, had come into my live to help me manifest the relationship I desired, which did indeed came to pass, just as the guidance indicated. Since then I have worked with hummingbird many times, and although it might be small, hummingbird medicine is very powerful and direct.
I use this story of many to illustrate another point. Point being, to PAY SPECIAL ATTENTION WHEN SIGNS COME IN THREES! Sometimes it occurs on its own, if not, and you are unsure if what you believe to be a sign is valid, then ask The Universe, your guides, angels, and deceased loved ones, to give you signs in threes so you can validate the authenticity of their message.
However, as mention, signs have a sense of knowingness attached to them, as a rule of thumb, if you have to ask "Is this a sign?" it probably isn't. If you are unsure, not only ask for reciprocation in threes, but go inside yourself and consult your vibes. Remember, you are a powerful sensitive and intuitive being!
The answers are inside you all along! Common signs from our guardian angels include finding white feathers, especially in places they normally wouldn't be. Deceased loved ones often drop coins, especially pennies, as well as play significant and meaningful songs for us on the radio, at just the right timing. And spirit guides love to play with electricity and technological devices, such as flickering the lights or turning TV's on and off
. Dear child of Infinite Love, have fun with your signs, AND REMEMBER TO ASK! After all, they're all around…if you pay attention.
